Professional Applied Kinesiology (PAK) is a form of assessment see Schmitt,W., Yanuck,S. International Journal of Neuroscience. 1999; 97:77-108.
PAK uses muscle testing and balancing techniques, acknowledging that muscle strength reflects not just the state of the musculoskeletal system but also our general health including the mental-emotional aspects of our health. PAK was developed by George Goodheart from 1964 onwards. In 1980 Dr Goodheart was the first chiropractor to attend to Olympic games athletes. Steven Rudd has studied PAK at a post graduate level and lectured internationally about Kinesiology since 1985.
This article below is a critical review of the use of studies of manual muscle testing and may interest those interested in research into the manual muscle test. https://chiromt.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1746-1340-15-4
